In recent years, Guangdong has made remarkable progress in advancing ecological development through the Green and Beautiful Guangdong initiative. As China's first province with a GDP exceeding 14 trillion yuan, Guangdong's ecological achievements are equally impressive. Though accounting for less than 2% of China's land area, it contains approximately 4% of China's total forest area.

Guided by the principle that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets," Guangdong is spearheading the comprehensive development of a "Beautiful Guangdong" and a pilot zone for "Beautiful China" through the initiative. The province is striving to create a Guangdong exemplar of modernization featuring harmonious coexistence between humanity and nature.
